As I waited for the bus, a shuttle rickshaw came by that was headed to my destination, since it was the same price as the bus I jumped in. Inside, I found a mother sitting with her daughter. The little girl was absolutely precious. She was all dressed up in a new outfit, her hair done, new shoes and a purse on her lap. I've been taking lessons from a lot of inspiring sources and knew this was the perfect time to meet some strangers.

I began talking to the little girl. They were headed to her aunt's house to celebrate the holiday. She happily pointed out her school on route and told me about her shoes that squeek when she walks. Her enthusiasm and smile were heartwarming.

While conversing, I noticed something unusual. The driver wasn't stopping at the bus stops en route to pick up more passengers. In my mind, I began to think if this trip was going to cost more than the bus fare. Maybe I should've asked how much it was going to be before I jumped in... I had enough money in my purse though so I pushed the thought aside.

The driver then turned to me and asked me where I was headed. My actual destination was .5km away from the shuttle endpoint and where the woman and her daughter were to get off. He agreed to drop me to my destination.

When we arrived at the shuttle endpoint, I got out of the rickshaw to let the woman out, but they didn't.

They were headed past that point but in a different direction than I.

No worries. I asked the driver how much it costs and he shook he said. No cost.

I stood there dumbfounded. Then looked to the woman in the back when it dawned on me. The driver was her husband. All I did was talk to their daughter with love and that was worth more than the shuttle fare.
